Kanny has arrived
Kap Kanny Fly, our latest rescue Greyhound from Kansas, arrived yesterday. My first impression of him is that he is a big foolish goofball. He likes people and other dogs and although he can be quiet, I wouldn't call him timid.
We went for lots of walks yesterday after he arrived and as a result he slept well last night. He sometimes flips onto his back as he sleeps! His legs are so long that this position looks absolutely ridiculous. One important item of note: no accidents in the house, yay!!
This morning Kanny thought he'd explore his new surroundings. He sniffed everything possible in our house, including pictures, books, mugs of tea, the computer, basically anything he could reach. I could hear all the little thumps from the framed pictures being shoved around by his nose (he's not very delicate).
Later on he decided to take most of the dog toys out of the basket where they're kept and distribute them evenly throughout the house.
We haven't gotten a tail wag yet, but he'll follow us from room to room if we're moving around, so I'm assuming he likes us. He is not shy about encountering new people or situations either.
He's hard to read at this point and I'm sure he'll change as he gets used to being a house dog, so I'll update more as things happen.
